EAST GRAND FORKS, Minn. (September 13, 2023) - Tucker completed his most recent four-day swing with his first career victory north of the border, winning at Lake of the Woods Speedway in Kenora, Ontario to move to within 11 points of the lead in the WISSOTA National Street Stock standings heading into this week's WISSOTA 100 at I-94 emr Speedway in Fergus Falls, MN. Following an 11th place finish on the opening night of John Seitz Memorial weekend, an in an effort to remain in the National Title hunt, Tucker went to the two-day Sauerkraut 500 event at Tri-County Speedway in Wishek, ND where two of Tucker's then 23 wins during the 2023 season have come. Tucker charged from sixth to third in his heat race and started fifth in the feature. Making his way through the field with Kasey Ussatis, Tucker made it to second for good on lap 12 and began to reel in Ussatis in the closing laps for the lead. Within a half second as the white flag flew, Tucker finished the race in second. Following a DNF on night two in Wishek, Tucker made the trip north of the border for his first race in Canada at Lake of the Woods Speedway in Kenora, Ontario. Tucker won his heat after starting third and started on the outside of the front row in the feature, which he went on to win. Tucker's 24th win of the season brings him to within 11 points of the national point lead. Joey's week at the Seitz Memorial started with the Prelude to the Johnny at River Cities which serves as championship night for the NLRA. With a 55 car field signed in, Joey improved from sixth to third in his heat race, which kept him out of one of the three B Mains later on that night. Starting 15th on the 25-lap feature, Joey climbed into the top ten in just five laps after surviving an accordion style pileup on a lap five restart. Another caution in the lap before the midway point, Joey passed former Seitz Memorial champion Chad Mahder to improve to sixth. Joey remained inside the top ten for the remainder of the race, finishing tenth. A poor draw on Friday night saw Joey roll off eighth in his heat race, finishing seventh which placed him eleventh in his B Main on Saturday evening. Making up five spots in the B put him in the third starting spot in the last chance race which only the winner makes the show. In just three laps, Joey had grabbed the lead and had the win and the final transfer spot in hand until a late yellow with three to go erased Joey's lead. Jeff Provinzino grabbed the lead on the restart and took the win ending Joey's weekend. This week the Pederson's will focus on the WISSOTA 100 at I-94 emr Speedway in Fergus Falls, MN with Tucker 11 points back of the national lead.
