EAST GRAND FORKS, Minn. (July 19, 2018) – After taking last week off from competition, Joey Pederson will return to action on Friday night at River Cities Speedway with the Wissota Late Models.
Entering the night, Joey sits fourth in the River Cities Speedway point standings despite missing one weekly racing event back in May. While being 79 markers behind leader Dustin Strand, Pederson is just nine points behind Ryan Corbett in fourth and 19 points behind Brad Seng in third.
Pederson currently has a string of three top five finishes that he’ll bring into Friday’s event. The best result of those three top fives was a third place finish at Greenbush Race Park with the NLRA Late Models.
Kelsi Pederson will be racing Saturday at Greenbush and Sunday at Buffalo River Race Park (double features) with the NLSA Lightning Sprints.
Tucker Pederson will have his No. 27P Wissota Late Model back out at River Cities Speedway on Friday night.
Last weekend, Kelsi had a trio of NLSA events on her schedule. After racing to a fourth and third place finish at Tri-County Speedway in Wishek, N.D. on Thursday and Friday, Pederson rolled her No. 93 machine into victory lane on Saturday at Jamestown Speedway.
Kelsi was the first to win a Lighting Sprint event at Jamestown Speedway, as she led all 20 laps from the outside of the front row. Pederson held off Alan Truscinski and 12 other competitors in the NLSA's first visit to the track.
Tucker was also in action at Tri-County for the speedway’s annual fair special. Tucker recorded two more top five finishes, including a third place effort, to bring his top five total to six on the season. Tucker’s weekend wrapped up Saturday in Jamestown, where he finished 15th.
