Pederson kids sweep Buffalo River for first wins of the season

EAST GRAND FORKS, Minn. (May 25, 2023) - Kelsi and Tucker Pederson attended the season opener at Buffalo River Speedway in Glyndon, MN last Sunday night, and both drivers ended the night in victory lane, collecting their first wins of the 2023 campaign.

Climbing from fourth to second in his heat race, Tucker Pederson lined up the No. 27P Shawn Horn Crary Real Estate / Amy Dallum Photography WISSOTA Street Stock on the pole for the 15 lap main event.

Pederson led the opening circuit, with Darek Turner leading the second lap. From there, Pederson took back the top spot, and held off a hard charging Kasey Ussatis en route to his first victory of the season in the green-white-checkered affair.

Tucker Pederson was in action three times last weekend, collecting a runner-up at Devils Lake Speedway, and a fourth place finish at River Cities on Friday night.

Sunday night was also Kelsi Pederson’s season opener, as she began the night charging from seventh to fourth in her heat race in the No. 93 North Dakota Eye Clinic / Dahlstrom Motors Henchcraft.

Switching to passing points this season with the POWRi Minn-Kota Lightning Sprints, Kelsi's effort in the heat race earned her the pole position for the 20 lap main event.

Kelsi led the race from the drop of the green, but had to hold off Alan and Alex Truscinski on a number of restarts throughout the race. The restarts included a new feature, a 'choose cone,' but Kelsi was never seriously challenged even following a late red flag for Garrison Miller.

Kelsi led all 20 laps, winning by nearly a second over Alan Truscinski.

This week, the Pederson's will bring all three cars out for the first time, as all three of their classes run on the same night for the first time on Friday night at River Cities Speedway.
