EAST GRAND FORKS, Minn. (September 18, 2020) - The Pederson boys put a bow on their home schedules last week during the 14th running of the John Seitz Memorial at River Cities Speedway.

Joey and Tucker opened the weekend Thursday night at River Cities for the 10th running of the 'Prelude to the Johnny,' that kicks off the John Seitz Memorial. Joey started his weekend with a heat win by nearly two seconds over eventual NLRA series champion Dustin Strand.

In the main event, Joey rolled off third in No. 7P Dahlstrom Motors / Channel Seed and Red River Bean Co. Victory chassis. Joey moved up to second early in the 25 lap NLRA season finale, and remained in the runner-up spot through a myriad of cautions that marred the race.

With 10 laps remaining, Joey closed to within a car length of leader Lance Schill in a bid for his first win of the 2020 campaign.

Joey took the lead on the 17th circuit, but another caution erased the pass, putting Joey back to second. Joey eventually finished the race in the sixth position.

After a two-hour rain delay on Friday night, Joey started on the pole of his qualifying heat for the John Seitz Memorial. Joey won the 15 lapper by over a half-second over defending Seitz Memorial champ, Aaron Turnbull.

The heat race victory earned Joey enough points to qualify for the 'Go Hard or Go Home' pole dash, where he started and finished seventh.

It took only three laps for Joey to climb into the top five and into the fourth position. He was fifth at the lap 32 fuel stop and remained in the top five for the 30 laps that followed.

Joey spent the final 22 laps inside the top 10, finishing ninth.

Tucker's weekend got off to a rocky start, as a seventh-place finish in his heat race relegated him to the B-Main, where contact with another competitor sent him pit side early, ending his night.

The newly minted Greenbush champion returned the following night, where he won his qualifying heat race in the No. 27P Olson Underground / Amy Dallum Photography Street Stock.

Tucker started fourth in his feature on Saturday night, but fell to as far back as sixth in the 25 lap event.

A late-race charge and passes on the likes of Daniel Aberle, Ryan Pommerer, Doug VanMill, and Aaron Blacklance saw Tucker run up to the runner-up spot in the waning laps. Tucker finished the race in the third position.

This weekend, Kelsi will run her final races of the 2020 season, racing with the Lucas Oil POWRi Minn-Kota Lightning Sprints at River Cities and Devils Lake. Tucker will join Kelsi at Devils Lake on Saturday night.

The entire Joey Pederson Racing team would like to thank all of their great sponsors for their continued support!
