By Spieker Promotions EAST GRAND FORKS, Minn. (July 4, 2019) – Tucker Pederson finally picked up that elusive feature win on Friday night at his home track, River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks. Tucker started third in the main event after a win from the pole in his heat race. On the initial start, Tucker avoided disaster by spinning to avoid original pole starter Josh Barker, who spun right in front of him. On the ensuing restart, Tucker lined up on the pole position and wasted little time building a five car length lead on the rest of the field.
Near the midway point of the race, second running Dan McNamee closed quickly as the lead duo reached lapped traffic. Tucker was able to split the middle of the low running lapped car, and the high running McNamee to continue on with the lead. Shortly thereafter, a caution re-stacked the field, but Tucker was able to rebuild a slight advantage over McNamee. Two late cautions put McNamee back on the back bumper of Tucker's Olson Underground No. 27, but he never faltered, running the bottom to perfection to his first career victory. After the race, Tucker let the moment sink in, as he said, "It feels so good to get the first one, especially at my home track." Later on in the evening, Joey rebounded from a seventh place run in the heat race, to charge from 14th to sixth in the WISSOTA Late Model main event. All of Joey's progress was made in the first nine laps of the 20-lap event, as he finished just shy of another to five. Kelsi and Tucker were rained out, once again, at Greenbush Race Park last Saturday night. The entire Joey Pederson Racing team would like to thank all of their great sponsors for their continued support!
