Tucker Nets Top Five Finish at River Cities

East Grand Forks, Minn. (Aug, 27, 2024) - Tucker found himself back in the top five Friday night at River Cities Speedway as the Late Models returned to action at the Bullring alongside the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series.

Joey improved from fifth to third in his heat race after Tucker won his from the pole to start Friday's action at River Cities. Tucker started sixth with Joey starting eighth in the 25-lap main event.

Tucker and Joey ran the bottom on the opening lap as they ran sixth and seventh respectively. Joey passed Tucker on the fifth lap as they tried tracking down Brad Seng and tried to hold off Lance Schill to remain in the final spots outside the top five.

Following a caution on lap seven, Shane Edginton and Brad Seng made contact in turn four. Joey unfortunately was the first car to enter the fray and ended up rolling the No. 7P. Once the track crew put Joey's mount back on its wheels, Jey exited the car unscathed.

Tucker continued on the restart with the fourth position and continued to roll the bottom of the quarter-mile as he continued to battle Lance Schill to keep a top five spot.

The final 18 laps went green-to-checkered and in the final circuits, Tucker ducked to the inside of Lance Schill heading into turn three with two to go in hopes of a fourth place run but ended the race with a fifth-place finish.

Joey's first rollover of his 32-season career appears to have not caused any frame damage and the pair will return to River Cities on Friday night for track championship night. All three Pederson Racing drivers are also planning on running the two-day Labor Day special at Greenbush Race Park in Greenbush, MN.
