EAST GRAND FORKS, Minn. (July 19, 2023) - In another busy week in the WISSOTA National Points hunt, Tucker Pederson, who sits second in the standings in the No. 27P Shawn Horn Crary Real Estate / Olson Underground Kurshinsky WISSOTA Street Stock, won all four races he entered to cut into Braden Brauer's advantage a top the National points race.
Tucker's week started with a return trip to Tri-County Speedway in Wishek, ND for the Tri-County Fair double header on Thursday and Friday. Tucker went from second from fourth in his heat race and went on to start fourth. in the main event. Tucker ran around the outside of the quarter-mile oval to start, charging from fourth to second on the opening lap. While lapping within a car length of Chris Ritter for a handful of laps, Tucker chose the bottom on a lap six restart. Tucker entered in a four-car battle for the lead with Ritter and Billie and Jaden Christ before taking the lead on lap nine. Tucker had to battle to keep the lead, losing it on a pair of occasions on laps 11 and 16, but took the lead back from Billie Christ off of turn two with three laps to go to go on to his first win of the weekend. On Friday night in Wishek, Tucker won the heat from the third starting spot. Tucker started third in the feature, which went only lasted six minutes. Tucker took the lead on lap three and continued on to his second win of the four-race stretch. On Saturday night at Devils Lake Speedway, Tucker moved from fifth to third in the heat race to set up fourth place start in the feature. For the second straight night, the feature lasted just over six minutes with Tucker taking the early lead. Tucker led all 20 laps, winning by nearly two seconds over Stoney Kruk to go three-for three on the weekend. On Sunday night, the crew headed back south for the second time this season to Granite City Motor Park in Sauk Rapids, MN. After winning the heat from the outside of the front row, Tucker started on the pole in the main event. For the third straight night, the feature lasted just over six minutes, with Tucker leading early running the middle of the three-eighths mile oval over Levi Randt. Tucker moved to the bottom on lap three and continued to lead over Randt and Justin Pogones. Tucker had built about a straight away lead past the midway point and continued on unchallenged to go four-for-four on the weekend. The win is also Tucker's sixth-in-a-row and hasn't finished outside of the top five since June 29th and hasn't finished lower than 6th since June 11th. This week, Joey Pederson will return to action at River Cities on Friday night, while Kelsi will also be back in action on Saturday at Greenbush Race Park, and Sunday at Buffalo River Speedway. Tucker will also be in action at all three races as well.
