EAST GRAND FORKS, Minn. (August 18, 2022) – It was another week and another victory lap for Tucker Pederson. The driver of the No. 27P Street Stock was the class of the field on Friday night at his home track, River Cities Speedway, as he scored his seventh win of the season. Tucker started on the pole, and after several attempts to get a lap completed, held the lead over Trey Hess. A few more cautions were scattered through the 20-lap feature, but Tucker held the point on each and every restart to convincingly claim the win. “It really made me nervous. I knew I had a lot of really good cars behind me,” said Tucker of those early-race restarts. “I feel like any one (of the drivers in the field) could have gotten (the win). Those restarts were really important.” The win gave Tucker his third of the season at River Cities Speedway, tying him for the most in the class to date. Tucker also raced to an eighth place finish at Greenbush on Saturday. Joey turned in another strong night on Friday at River Cities Speedway as well. After winning his heat, he drove from seventh to fifth in the Late Model main event. Joey has been a model of consistency over the past three weeks. During that stretch, he has racked up five top five finishes in six races, including a win on Aug. 5th at River Cities and a runner-up finish at Greenbush Race Park on Aug. 6th. Kelsi had a busy weekend on tap as the Minn-Kota Lightning Sprint Summer Shootout took place. The event spanned four consecutive nights at four different tracks. She began the swing with a seventh-place result at Norman County Raceway in Ada, Minn. before collecting a podium finish on Friday at River Cities. Unfortunately, bad luck plagued the No. 93 team the rest of the weekend as a broken chain sidelined her early at Greenbush on Saturday and an engine failure capped things off on Sunday at Buffalo River Speedway in Glyndon, Minn. This weekend, both Joey and Tucker will be back in action on Friday night at River Cities and on Saturday at Devils Lake Speedway. Big money will be up for grabs for the NLRA Late Models at Devils Lake with $5,000 going to the winner. Currently tied for 11th on the all-time NLRA wins list with nine wins, Joey will be looking for his first NLRA triumph at the high-banked Devils Lake quarter-mile. The entire Joey Pederson Racing team would like to thank all of their great sponsors for their continued support!
