By Spieker Promotions EAST GRAND FORKS, Minn. (August 5, 2020) – It was a busy weekend for Pederson racing, as all three cars made an appearance at River Cities Speedway on Friday night, before Kelsi headed south to Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo on Saturday, with Tucker heading back north to Greenbush Race Park. On Friday night at River Cities, Tucker picked up a win in his heat race, while Joey and Kelsi were second in their heats.
Tucker started eighth in his feature, but after a good battle with Ryan Johnson for seventh, the field strung out nose-to-tail along the top of the track, and he finished eighth in the caution-free, 15-lap race. Kelsi was next up, as she started on the outside of the front row in her feature. Kelsi led the first three circuits around the Bullring before Dexter Dvergsten took the lead on lap four. The pair traded the lead back and forth for the next handful of laps, until a caution flew with five laps remaining. The order remained the same for the final five laps, as Kelsi ended up second and scored her 14th top five which extended her top 10 streak to 14-for-14. Joey was the last of the Pederson trio to go on Friday night, as he rolled off sixth for NLRA's first appearance at the quarter-mile in 2020. Joey lost a spot to Dustin Strand early, but remained seventh for the duration of the race, as the final 22 laps went caution-free. On Saturday, the three Pederson pilots went their separate ways, as Tucker headed back to Greenbush, and Kelsi returned to Red River Valley Speedway, tracks where both have scored wins during the 2020 campaign. Kelsi won her heat in West Fargo and started fourth in the main event. Kelsi ran third early in the 15-lapper, but it was Dvergsten again making a pass to move into fourth. A caution with three laps remaining cost her two more spots, as she finished sixth. Tucker was the final of five features for Pederson Racing on the weekend. After finishing second in his heat race, Tucker was slated to start seventh in the main event. Tucker swapped spots with Doug VanMill, Jerome Berger, and Dan McNamee during the 15-lapper, but remained seventh at the conclusion of the race. Tucker was able to move into a tie for the track point lead with Ryan Johnson with a month remaining in the season. The schedule returns to normal this week, as Joey and Tucker will race at River Cities on Friday night, while Kelsi will rejoin Tucker in Greenbush on Saturday.
