East Grand Forks, Minn (Sept. 2, 2025) - The Pederson Family rounded out the month of August with three races last week which started with Friday’s Track Championship at River Cities Speedway before spending Labor Day weekend at Greenbush Race Park in Greenbush, MN with the Northern Late Model Racing Association. Friday night at River Cities is traditionally lined up by track points, so with Joey in fourth, Tucker in fifth, and Kelsi in ninth, the night started with Joey on the outside of the front row in heat one, Tucker on the outside of the front row in heat two, and Kelsi starting on the inside of row two in the third and final heat. Joey and Tucker finished second in their heats with Kelsi finishing fifth in the third heat. The feature was lined up straight up by heat finish giving Joey the fourth starting spot, Tucker the fifth spot, and Kelsi in the 15th spot in the order. Four cautions in the first 11 laps kept the pace of the race slow but Joey and Tucker were able to hold spots inside the top five for the majority of the first half of the race. Another trio of cautions at the five to go mark allowed Kelsi to move up as high as seventh, but a spin with two to go saw Kelsi’s charge come to an end. Joey and Tucker held off Ryan and Brandon Corbett in the final two laps to finish third and fourth respectively. On Saturday the trio headed north for the first and only time this season to Greenbush Race Park in Greenbush, MN. Joey made the redraw and got the sixth starting spot for the first 25-lap feature of the weekend but Kelsi and Tucker had to qualify through the B-Main. Tucker won the B Main with Kelsi finishing third, lining them up in the 21st and 26th starting spots. The pair went on to avoid disaster early on in the race as a pile-up that ended the night for six drivers broke out in front of them. Kelsi and Tucker spun into the infield and continued on after the frontstretch was cleared. Joey had fallen back as low as tenth at the midway point, but rebounded to finish seventh. Kelsi and Tucker battled for position late and finished 14th and 15th respectively. Kelsi was second in the Hard Charger chase, moving up 12 positions. Sunday started better for the team as Joey won his heat race with Kelsi and Tucker finishing third in their heats. Joey started on the outside of the second row with Kelsi and Tucker starting side-by-side in row six. There was only one caution Saturday night and the first 19 laps went caution free. On the restart, Joey swapped fourth and fifth with Brad Seng with Tucker passing six cars in the first two laps to climb into the top ten. Joey finished the race in fifth with Tucker tenth and Kelsi 15th. This week the Pederson’s head to River Cities for the final time in 2025 for the 19th annual John Seitz Memorial. The hope is to put all three cars in the $9,200-to-win 92-lap finale Saturday night. Tucker missed the show in his first attempt last season while Joey has missed the show by one spot two years in-a-row, losing the last chance race in the closing laps of the race both years. This will be Kelsi’s first Seitz Memorial in the Late Model. 2025 Stats: Joey: Features: 21 Wins: 0 Top Fives: 10 Top Tens: 14 Kelsi: Features: 21 Wins: 0 Top Fives: 3 Top Tens: 8 Tucker: Features: 24 Wins: 2 Top Fives: 9 Top Tens: 19 Special thanks to our sponsors and friends who support us week in and week out, we couldn’t do it without you all!
