By Spieker Promotions EAST GRAND FORKS, Minn. (August 7, 2018) – Friday night racing at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, N.D. continued last week. Joey Pederson and the No. 7P team were geared up, looking for their third consecutive win at the high-banked three-tenths mile clay oval. Though Pederson didn’t visit victory lane by night’s end, he still had one of the most impressive drives of the evening.
A fourth-place finish in his heat mired Pederson in the 12th starting position for the main event. Pederson wasted no time moving to the front once the green flag waved on the 20-lap Wissota Late Model feature. Pederson cracked the top 10 on lap two, and steadily moved up the running order throughout the race. Pederson jumped up to the sixth position at the halfway point, where he became engaged in a battle for a position inside the top five with Troy Schill. The two veteran drivers traded the fifth position lap after lap, but Pederson secured the spot with four laps to go. Pederson went on to finish in fifth to record his eighth top five of 2018. After a heat race win on Friday, Tucker recorded an eighth-place finish in his No. 27 Wissota Street Stock. On Saturday at Greenbush Race Park in Greenbush, Minn., Tucker collected his fourth heat race win in a row before finishing fourth in the feature. Kelsi Pederson was in action Saturday at Greenbush and Sunday at Buffalo River Race Park in Glyndon, Minn. She raced her No. 93 NLSA Lightning Sprint to a third place finish both nights. 2018 Stats: Joey Pederson: Races: 12 Wins: 3 Top Fives: 8 Top Tens: 10 Kelsi Pederson: Races: 20 Wins: 3 Top Fives: 15 Top Tens: 16 Tucker Pederson Races: 17 Wins: 0 Top Fives: 10 Top Tens: 13
