Kelsi Second at Buffalo River on Rain Filled Weekend in the Valley

East Grand Forks, Minn. (May 20, 2024) - Kelsi Pederson was the only driver in the Pederson family of racers to get a feature race in last weekend as she finished second in her No. 93 North Dakota Eye Clinic / R&R Farms Henchcraft Lightning Sprint on Sunday night at Buffalo River Speedway in Glyndon, MN.

​The trio again were all in action on Friday night at River Cities Speedway as the track went through the 'hurry-up offense' to try and beat incoming weather all night. Kelsi charged from seventh to third in her heat race.

Joey started third in his heat and finished second in the No. 7P Dahlstrom Motors / Channel Seed Rocket XR1 with Tucker improving from fourth to second in his heat in the No. 27P InVisionAg / Amy Dallum Photography MB Custom.

As Kelsi made her way to staging for her feature the storm rolled in bringing the night to an abrupt end. The features will be made up at a late date with Kelsi starting on the outside the front row in her feature with Tucker and Joey scheduled to start fourth and seventh respectively in the Late Model make-up.

Kelsi made the trip to Buffalo River Speedway on Sunday where she finished second in her heat race and started fourth in the 20-lap main event.

Passing Jake Haugeberg and Travis Surerus in the opening set of turns, Kelsi stormed into the runner-up spot.

Kelsi closed the gap between her and race long leader Matthew Taves in lapped traffic in the closing laps but finished the race second as it went green-to-checkered in just under six minutes.

Joey and Tucker will be back in action Friday night at River Cities before heading north with the NLRA to race at the McNaught Cup at Dead Horse Creek Speedway in Morden, MB, Canada.
