East Grand Forks, Minn. (June 25, 2024) - Kelsi Pederson was the only member of Pederson Racing that took to the track last weekend scoring a trio of top five runs during a 24-hour period with double features at River Cities Speedway during the Greater Grand Forks Fair on Saturday and one more feature Sunday night at Buffalo River Speedway in Glyndon, MN. Saturday at River Cities featured a full program on night two of the Greater Grand Forks Fair but also concluded with the make-up feature from May 17th. Kelsi's charge from seventh to third in her heat race on May 17th set up a front row starting spot for the make-up feature.
Saturday started with a heat win from the fourth starting spot which saw the No. 93 Amy Dallum Photography / North Dakota Eye Clinic Henchcraft roll off fifth in the first main event of the evening. Kelsi passed Jake Haugeberg on the initial start and challenged Dylan Langevin for fourth on the following lap. Kelsi ran high and challenged Kate Taves for fourth on a lap eight restart and remained in the top five following another caution a couple laps later. The rest of the race finished under green flag conditions with Kelsi finishing fifth. One hour later Kelsi lined up on the outside of the front row for the make-up feature that was postponed on May 17th. Kelsi went four-wide with Matt and Kate Taves and Dylan Langevin and finished the opening circuit in fifth. A lap four caution saw Kelsi remain in the top five before leader Matt Taves flipped in turn four with 12 to go. She had been battling with Evan Yanish for fourth before the stoppage and restarted fifth. Running the high side again, she took fourth from Hayden Koehmstedt and began to reel in Yanish again for third. The closing laps saw a fight for third with Kate Taves with Kelsi completing the 40th feature lap of the night in fifth. Sunday night at Buffalo River saw a third-place heat finish turn into another front row starting spot for the final 20-lap feature of the weekend. A caution on lap seven saw Kelsi fall from second to fourth where she remained for the final 13 laps which went green to checkered. Kelsi finished the weekend with a trio of top fives in a 24-hour timeframe.
