Kelsi Pederson collects a pair of top fives at River Cities & Buffalo River

​EAST GRAND FORKS, Minn. (May 25, 2021) – Kelsi Pederson was the only Pederson Racing driver in action last week, as she continued her season with the Lucas Oil POWRi Minn-Kota Lightning Sprints last weekend at the River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, and at the newly reopened Buffalo River Speedway in Glyndon, MN.

On Friday night at River Cities, Kelsi started third and finished second in her heat race, placing her in the redraw, receiving the fifth starting spot in the main event.

Despite a little trouble on the initial start, Kelsi remained fifth after a lap two caution. Another caution on lap three saw Kelsi improve to fourth on the following restart, nearly taking third shortly thereafter.

Kelsi showed the nose wing of the No. 93 Northland Sheds / Dahlstrom Motors Henchcraft to the inside of Alex Truscinski on several occasions through the midway point of the 15 lap event, but lost fourth in the closing circuits.

Kelsi stole fourth back from Cody Swenson at the line as the checkered flag waved.

Kelsi's weekend concluded on Sunday night at the Buffalo River Speedway in Glyndon, MN, for the first appearance for the Lightning Sprints at the newly reopened quarter-mile since 2019.

Kelsi stormed from sixth to third in her heat race, re-drawing the fourth spot for the final main event of the weekend.

Kelsi engaged in a four-car battle with Jason Berg, Bryce Haugeberg, and Alan Truscinski early on, but fell out of the top five before a caution flag just past the halfway point.

Kelsi moved past both Berg and Alan Truscinski on the restart to move back into fourth. Kelsi finished in the fourth spot.
